Tisha B'Av
Tisha B'Av falls, this year, on 1st August 2017. It's the day Jews mourn the loss of both the first and second temples - amongst other tragedies that befell our ancestors through the years on the 9th day of the hebrew month of Av.
Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence from Kinloss United Synagogue spoke to Arts Editor Kate Fulton about how they plan on marking the occasion with the following events:
A dramatisation of Kressman Taylor's "Address Unknown" with Julian Stolzenberg & Phil Cheadle - starts at 19:15.
"Mourning under Glass" - Rabbi Dr Naftali Moses reflects on the tragic murder of his son in the 2008 terror attack on Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav - starts at 20:15.
