Sephardi Voices: Jews from North Africa, the Middle East and Iran


An exhibition which is currently on at The Jewish Museum until 7th September explores some of the stories of Jewish immigrants to the UK from across the Islamic world.

Chair of Sephardi Voices, Alec Nacamuli spoke to Arts Editor Kate Fulton about the exhibition and told us about the purpose of the organisation.

There are some events being held in conjuncture with the exhibition, they are as follows:

Thursday 6 July, 6-9pm Sephardi Late! - Explore the exhibition after hours with some fun events including:

- a Moroccan Jewish Henna ceremony

- learn how to belly dance

- hear artists Leslie Hakim-Dowek, Bettina Caro and Lawrence Joffe discuss how their Sephardi upbringing inspired their work

Thursday 7 September Famous Iraki Jewish musician Yair Dalal in conversation and concert.
