Proms At St Jude's

Proms at St Judes is an intercommunity festival boasting music and culture that takes place in northwest London, this year it runs from 24th June to 2nd July.

One of the events featured all started as a result of one Peter Lobenberg’s (pictured) grandmother. It’s called ‘Letters from Lony’ and will play out on Wednesday 28th June.

He came across some old letters written by his late Grandmother to his mother. His Grandmother was left behind in Germany when his family left. The letters were about what was going on in Germany and what happened when she went to Amsterdam. Peter took the letters, translated them himself and fund a composer who turned them into a piece of music.

Arts Editor Kate Fulton spoke to Peter about the event and the series of occurrences that lead up to its creation.
